My name is Gill Beere and I qualified with a distinction in Clinical Reflexology from the Complementary Therapy School. This qualification is the highest level available in the UK and is credit rated by Napier University. I am a proud member of the Association of Reflexologists and regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
I also studied medicine, having graduated from Glasgow University with commendation in 2013. During my university degree, I also completed a BSc Hons in Developmental Medicine – which focused on maternal and child health. I have a wide-ranging knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as both acute and chronic medical conditions. I also have years worth of first-hand clinical experience in women's health, including obstetrics.
I have now taken a step away from medicine to pursue a career in reflexology. My passion is holistic health and wellbeing and supporting people in their journey to feeling healthier and happier. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to reflexology during my first pregnancy, carrying on through my subsequent 2 pregnancies and more recently, to help me rest, balance and de-stress as a mum to 3 young children. When my youngest was just 5 months old I started my reflexology training and I have never looked back. I truly believe reflexology can support the body, mind and spirit, providing so many benefits for everyone in all stages of their lives.
I am committed to broadening my knowledge and skills to support my clients. To this end I have completed university accredited advanced specialist training in Maternity Reflexology with Sally Earlam and Kate Mulliss. This has given me deeper understanding of how reflexology can support women at all stages during conception, pregnancy and postnatally.
Having incorporated reflexology regularly into my children’s routine and seeing the benefits, I decided to gain extra training in reflexology for babies, toddlers and children, completing Baby and Toddler Reflex teacher and practitioner training. This has given me additional knowledge and tools to offer bespoke treatments for babies and children of all ages and teach parents/caregivers reflexology, empowering them to support their child's health and wellbeing.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which is holistic - taking the whole person into account – mind, body and spirit - in order to promote health and wellbeing by bringing about deep relaxation. The theory behind reflexology is that body parts, organs and systems are mapped out on the feet, hands, ears and face and by stimulating these certain points called 'reflexes’, the corresponding area in the body is believed to benefit by increased energy flow – or 'qi', creating balance.
As a reflexologist, I can identify unbalanced areas using specific touch and pressure and work on the reflex to restore balance. Imbalances can occur due to physical/emotional stress and calming the nervous system through deep relaxation, is also thought to assist in restoring balance. When homeostasis is achieved, it is thought that a person’s body can rejuvenate and heal, bringing about health and wellbeing benefits.
Everyone can benefit from reflexology, whether this be a specific issue you are looking to target or simply looking to create self-care moments in your life to take care of your body and mind.
Maternity Reflexology is a safe complementary therapy and I am trained to provide treatments to women throughout pregnancy, including the 1st trimester. Before commencing a treatment, we will complete a health questionnaire together. This enables me to check for contraindications and tailor the treatment towards your specific needs.
From the moment of conception through to the birth of your baby, a huge amount of physiological, physical and emotional adaptations occur, and reflexology is a safe way to support and optimise your health. Specifically, the proven benefits of reflexology – improving sleep, reducing tension and stress, improving mood, aiding relaxation are never more important than when you are pregnant.
Whilst reflexology can provide you with an important time to focus on your baby, rest, relax and nourish, women also attend reflexology to support common pregnancy symptoms such as constipation, low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, fatigue, anxiety/depression, heartburn, nausea and many more.
As the birth of your baby approaches, reflexology can be tailored towards not only helping you to relax but also help prepare your mind and body for labour and the birth of your baby.
N.B. preparation for birth reflexology is suitable for women after 37 weeks

Support for a mother after the birth of her baby is so important and reflexology can be the perfect way to help the body and mind recover and adapt to life with a newborn (whether it is your first or 3rd baby!).
I will perform deeply relaxing treatments aimed at nurturing recovery, restoring balance and improving wellbeing. These treatments are flexible, can be with or without your baby and can be done as home visits.
Reflexology is a safe and gentle treatment for babies/toddlers and is suitable from birth. Babies/toddlers enjoy gentle nourishing touch, and gain the benefits from even very short treatments. Positive touch leads to the release of oxytocin, which reduces stress levels and nurtures the bond between parent and baby.
Incorporating simple and effective reflexology techniques into your babies/toddler's routine is a valuable and empowering way to support their health and wellbeing. As a qualified reflexologist, I can tailor the techniques towards your babies/toddler's needs and can adapt these for the hands and feet depending the age of your child. As a Baby Reflex Practitioner I also teach reflexology techniques to parents/carers. This is a wonderful way to calm and soothe and is a life skill that can be adapted no matter how old your child is.
How this 'package' is structured is unique to each client and their baby and can be planned in advance.
This makes a great 'new baby' gift - contact me to purchase a gift voucher.

Class sizes are kept small. Courses are run in blocks of 3 consecutive weeks. Classes take place in my purpose built clinic, each lasting 60-75mins.
Children hugely benefit from reflexology- something I have experienced first-hand with my own children. Through calming and gentle touch, oxytocin is released, which helps reduce cortisol levels in the body leading to lowered stress and anxiety.
Children respond very well to reflexology. It supports the body and mind, provides relaxation, and teaches them the benefit of this, a skill which is essential in our modern day lives. I am very flexible when it comes to working with children and their families and I create bespoke treatments which are holistic and tailored to the changing needs of the individual.
Appointments are 30 minutes and during the initial appointment I will take time to teach the parent/gaurdian and child supporting foot +/- hand reflexology techniques to use at home.
Often a course of treatments will be recommended. Discounted block bookings are available.
I am proud to be able to call myself an eco-friendly therapist. I am conscious during my home and family life to make daily choices that are eco-friendly and sustainable.
When setting up my business it was important for me to incorporate this. I will continue to look for additional ways to live and work as sustainably as possible.
I use natural, sustainable products during my treatments - primarily Songbird Reflexology Wax, and in my clinic - Purgy & Figg Cleaning products, Self Care Company natural soy candles and natural hand soap.
